Jessica RosewarnSheffield
Sheffield based designer and maker. Up until recently I was running a creative events space in a 1950s warehouse. Amongst other things, we hosted exhibitions, talks and craft markets. Through these events I got to know many of the incredible makers, artists and designers based in the city. I loved helping to share the work and ideas of others and it was a huge source of inspiration.
However, with changing times this has all been put on hold. Sad though that was, it has given me the time to pursue my own designing. I have been making jewellery from a mixture of materials for a while but in recent years have focused on leather. Initially I was just making things for myself and for friends but it has now expanded beyond that.
I have always had a huge love of colour and am often drawn towards unusual combinations. Some of my designs are quite minimal, others less so but all utilise a variety of simple shapes in contrasting colours and complementary tones. All pieces are made from reused leather and off-cuts that I source from other makers. It’s exciting not quite knowing what colours will arrive in each batch and it means that there will regularly be new designs and only a limited number of each piece. I also do custom colours and bespoke pieces as well.
