Seller Profile – Maxwell Harrison Jewellery

Etsy shop name

Please describe your product range.
I design and make sterling silver jewellery, using traditional techniques such as casting, forging, etching and enamelling. My work often (but not always) has a minimalist feel to it and sometimes
incorporates semi-precious stones and found items such as seaglass
and beach stones.

I started an Etsy shop because…
I wanted a way to fund what was becoming a very expensive hobby! I knew that jewellery was something that I wanted to try to make a career out of and Etsy seemed like an ideal way to test the waters, as well as giving me instant access to an international audience. Being part of Sheffield Sellers on Etsy really helped me to get going and I’m always learning from our more experienced team members.

I feel inspired by…
Simple geometric shapes, unusual textures and repeating patterns found in nature. I love picking up items on the beach and wondering how I could incorporate them into something tactile and wearable.

When I’m working on Etsy, I like to listen to…
BBC 6 Music or one of umpteen Spotify playlists I have on the go. I love a bit of Queens of The Stone Age or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club when I’m hammering metal and Scroobius Pip’s “Distraction Pieces” podcast is great for calmer moments.
